Remember Dalgona coffee? That thing everyone was making during the lockdown? I’ve never actually tried it but I have this idea that a Dalgona Affogato would be a lot of fun. Like good vanilla gelato with a whipped coffee topping 🤤
i know everyone was making this during the pandemic and it’s lowkey a traumatic drink for that reason … but it’s still soo yummy and fun to make in the mornings. 10/10 we must return to our roots
"it wasn't a covid phase, mom!!" If you lived through the pandemic and also had a crippling tiktok addiction, you've probably tried dalgona coffee. I recently got back into it after running out of fresh beans and boy oh boy, this shit still hits!!!
it's so simple. so easy. soooo good.
recipe:
• 2 tbsp of instant coffee // I use trader joes, but there are better
• 2 tbsp of brown sugar // any granulated sugar will do
• 2 tbsp of hot water // I do 190°
• whip/wisk/fluff/destroy till it becomes a fluffy caramel-to-first tan of summer gold
spoon it on top of milk of choice and bam!

affogato - espresso and just plain vanilla bean ice cream so so yum - put a little flakey salt too amazing or a matcha affogato with like a passionfruit creamsicle ice cream (i tried passionfruit creamsicle at folderal the place that does ice cream and wine pairings in paris and it was so yum)
I usually just make myself drip coffee or a single cup of tea during the week but I’ve got a little time so why not make a whole tea service just for me
