Of all the carnivores and conquistadors, I stand amongst them ashamed of my once unknown allegiance to their ideology. I too have feasted on and misused the fruits of the earth. Blind to the reality that the lakes and birds fear me as well. For my arrogance had hindered my explorational nature and festered a globe-trotting conquistador eager to gain the attention of the creatures, as if it was mine for the taking. Recruited and trained to be ignorant, I marched on. Later came the bitter realization that I’m responsible for the mountains I’ve toppled, the flowers I’ve crushed, and the trees I’ve maimed. A hard and beastly recovery I left them. From harms brought from my hubris, my will. Their scars remain as I engage in my righteous examination. But what reckoning lies ahead for a carnivore? After scabs appear and new branches grow. As I sit awaiting the will of the wounded. I must engage with the newly uncovered truths and instruct change if I dream solemnly of growth. Change disconnected from my past ideology, separated from the carnivorous mind.

they loss, just a redirect. find volunteer work even if it is 1 hour a week. compartmentalize the online job searching and force activities that bring pleasure, ideally irl. Freedom isn’t exactly free but time is all we have so in a way congrats on the new wealth. Hope you find formidable fit at your next place of employ!
