For me, I know that I am going to get the most stuff done when I first wake up. I don’t even do the things that are going to distract me like my phone or sitting down until I finish. I also unintentionally created incentive for myself because I don’t play my little word games until get a bunch of stuff done that I need to 🤪 Everyone has a time during the day where they have the most energy and focus. Figure out when that is for you and try to work with that. I know for me that the longer the day goes on the less likely I am to do those things, so I plan around it. Some people actually can only work like that at like, 8 PM. Maybe you’re nuts and work really well after lunch!!! Anyway, TLDR, pay attention to your natural rhythm and work with it.

So here’s what I think: For those of you who have a skillset at waking up anytime earlier than work - I recommend MP. This can be your workout, or sitting in a coffee shop, or going on a walk, or even watching TV. Reclaim your morning! We grew up just eating breakfast as quick as possible and sprinting to school. (Well, I did.) It’s easier to focus on working if you already had MP.

I’ve struggled with sleep maintenance my whole adult life and have been working PST jobs from the East Coast for years now, so both naturally hopeless and lacking your standard external motivators to be conscious in the “single digits.” I actively want to change this so that I have time to myself in the morning to read/exercise/just chill since I work later into the night, but has never been something I can consistently rewrite. In any case, I have the luxury to drink coffee and read for a bit in bed before starting my work day, but wow if I master mornings I’d have hours…

I’ve historically struggled with getting anywhere on time because it’s hard to get up in the morning, but I’ve recently made the effort to get to work around 30 min before everyone — and while this may not be great for work/life balance — it does set up the day nicely. Feels good to have a little calm before the storm so to speak. Plus it’s a way for me to justify getting coffee on the way in most days

Humans have always danced. It is part of who we are, yet we have been conditioned to be self conscious, to think that we do not move our bodies good enough. Dancing is beyond judgement. Dancing is not a skill, it is our soul moving through our bodies, expressed in movement. Dancing is healing. Dancing is bodily autonomy. Dancing is FUN! Any feeling you are feeling can be moved through with dance yet even alone, you fear looking foolish. Kill the judge in your mind, shut the fuck up, and MOVE 🌊
