applies to a lot of things but for me personally this feels especially relevant for reading!! sometimes it takes me a month to finish a book and that’s fine!!!
no matter how long it takes me, the satisfaction of reading a book cover to cover is unmatched. i like to give myself as much time as i need to read and not force a deadline on myself. i’ve found this makes reading much more enjoyable and i actually retain much of what i read.
sometimes life happens and you don't have time. sometimes the book just sucks and you need a break from it but is too proud (or curious enough) to just dnf it. sometimes it is very slow and/or long so it doesn't really help itself.
this may seem like it makes life very lonely and boring (it does) but i like to think it makes me come across as mysterious and fascinating (it doesn't)
