I remember my mom having a copy of this cookbook when I was growing up. I specifically remember a biscuit recipe from this book that I would help her make. Thinking I may need to get myself a copy. Another honorable mention is The Moosewood Cookbook with vegetarian recipes.

A little late to mention now that spring is here, I prefer to make these recipes just in the winter but this might be my favorite cookbook I own! Calling it a cookbook is selling it short- the photography of the dreamlike mountains and small Alpine towns, stories, and immersion you feel into this part of the world inside are honestly the best parts! You’ll find familiar Alpine fare like schnitzel, fondue, and what not but so much new to discover! The veal (ive substituted pork too!) carbonnade with polenta and veal in demi glaze cream sauce served with rosti are two of my favorites!

Lots of recipes for poultry and meat in here, also a brilliant recipe for Portuguese Kale Soup. I love the Ralph Steadman cover as well.

It’s nice to be the one in the friend group who always has a game planned. I keep one deck in my purse and one on my car. Then have some quick games that are easy to teach. I suggest: Six Card Golf Garbage Bullshit Presidents and Assholes
