tyler and i had to stop by palace after looking at wedding venues in maine yesterday!!! (eeeek!) we usually get their pancakes but sadly they were sold out by the time we got there. went with the french toast (as our dessert side, obviously) and we were sooo happy we tried! a new favorite, look at that melted butter 🥲
If you’re ever in PDX you need to try Pip’s. Or, like, get someone to ship them to you. These bite sized treats are “more like a cardamom and nutmeg spiced Belgium waffle than a regular doughnut”. Cooked hot to order with flavors of your choosing- today I went to catch some specialty flavors (pistachio cream, prickly pear & yuzu, pancakes) but usually they offer addictive classics like candied bacon, honey & sea salt, or nutella. They’ve got a number of in-house chai and matcha mixes, and best of all, you get a free dozen on your birthday! Always worth the drive!
very cool little brunch sandwich shop in paris! i visited there with my boyfriend a week ago (per his request), and they had a japanese chef in the kitchen that day making a limited menu of chicken katsu or veggie tempura sandwiches (we shared veggie tempura bc i’m vegetarian and we also got there late so they ran out of chicken), potato croquette, and a small bowl of curry. we both agreed it was one of the best sandwiches we’ve ever had.
