as part of my summer 2024 project, i'm trying to learn how to dj. today i made the most diabolical like downright atrocious mix i've ever heard but in the process of trying to get the app to dj i got 2 months free of apple music. and now i'm hearing sounds in songs i thought i KNEW like the back of my hand which makes them feel like i'm listening for the first time.
cold emailing to undergo dj training at my local independent radio station <3 just want to share music w friends (oh if anyone is interested, here’s a demo mix i made a while back when i had entertained the idea the first time and got cold feet. in a perfect world i would pick a broad human theme as a title, and pair it with a piece of poetry or prose that evokes that feeling. the songs i choose will align with that)
Not sure why I didn’t learn how to do this earlier. My music taste slaps - it feels like I’ve spent my entire life compiling an extensive music library, and it’s finally getting put to good use, gracing more than just the ears of me and my friends. You’re welcome.
I bought myself a DJ controller at the start of the year and have hit my two big milestones which was:
1) releasing a mix I was proud of
2) playing at a party (and having fun doing it!)
And…
3) My stretch goal of being asked to play somewhere is in the works!!
I’ve booked a friends party after they heard me play and really enjoyed it 😭🥹
Like literally all my dreams have come true!!!
crush texted me and i said hell yeah nigga we up really loud and i saw my supervisor look very taken aback but i luckily have my camera off so i’m gonna lie and blame my brother
