An elderly man who volunteers there always gives the audience a quick intro to the film with the DVD case in his hand The tickets are pay-what-you-can and the screen, sound, and programming are all great I went with my friend with whom I usually hate-watch really bad 2010s dramas so it was nice to see a film that we actually love together

Watching your favorite movie in a theatre

What I love about nyc is the infinite amount of screenings there are for all types of movies — I think of it as an event more than anything! Feels way more fulfilling than just catching a film that just came out at an amc or whatever. The theaters r so much more intimate! And then you’ll watch happy together 1997 and the colors will be so beautiful n bright and you’ll cry and feel the same way someone did after seeing it 20+ years ago!

Do nice things for myself

put on a cute outfit that i like and go look at books in a bookshop with no plan on buying anything. take myself to dinner in a sit-down restaurant after, then head home and relax with a cup of tea. music in my headphones during all of it, probably a mix of sad and more upbeat stuff. that’s the closest thing i have to a cure-all right there.
