Don't listen in a way that will give them money if they are actively hurting people. Horrible people make great art all the time so you are far from the only one in this position.

🤷I think you need to treat it the same way as you would a "normal" controversial artist. If you think what they did is horrendous but still want to listen to their stuff you can listen to re uploads from other people, so you dont support them directly.
I really dont know about spiritual, though.
Some say seperate the artist from the art, but i dont believe in that, really...

📼the CEO of spotify is in the headlines this month for investing in AI military tech, so it seems to me that the streaming companies are a much bigger ethical problem than cancelled artists.
personally i think the best thing to do is just directly support the artists you do feel good about supporting whenever you can afford to support them. we all consume far too much media to be able to pay for everything. but the way i see it, even if you pirate 99% of what you consume, if you cancel one sub and buy an album with that money you're already netting some positive karma.
if you don't feel good about supporting someone then i think it's fine not to. part of being an artist is accepting that your career is going to be somewhat predicated on social currency.

🧨Assuming you are an artist and internally compelled to create. If they're not paying you their opinion does not matter. Biggest mistake in the world to pander to others tastes and interests. Do not compromise for anyone, the only compromises you make should come from what is physically and materially possible for you to accomplish. But if you are getting money for it good for you and you should probably just do whatever they want.

♥️If the voice in your head is being too mean ask it if it would talk to someone you love this way. My internal monologue can be a 💩 and this sometimes can help it be more constructive
