i'm fairly new to adulthood - 19, full-time college student, part-time elementary teacher's aide - one of the things i've loved the most about my job was hearing about the student's interests, and it made me nostalgic for the interests i used to have. a few weeks ago, Xbox was having it's ~80%-off sale, and i noticed they had a few of my childhood games for like $8-$10, so now for the past few days, all i've been playing is LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. i just finished the main questline yesterday, and the whole thing was a blast. it really showed me how art such as that can affect people's lives, it was made with a lot of love, and that's apparent from the gameplay. it's also shown me how i've grown, where now i'm challenging myself to do something i never could - unlock each hero, but especially, unlock Deadpool.

I recently was re-exposed to a huge part of my childhood—playing Mario galaxy with my little brother! We were obsessed with this game and would play it over and over and over again. My college housemates and I are having a blast with this—thank you Clem for letting us borrow it <3 Highly recommend you do something to make your 7yr old self happy…

I had a nostalgia flashback a few days ago, and it felt like I was still there at my aunt and uncle's house in Middleton, Massachusetts playing this for the first time. I remembered the view out the window, sitting on the hardwood floor, and the menu music playing out of the huge rear-projection TV set (I'll be able to press play on that song in my brain at any given moment for the rest of my life.) I had never really had a flashback like this before, but I got really emotional. This week has personally been one of the hardest for me in a long time, and in that moment, I wanted to be back there so badly when everything was so much easier.

Not a “Gamer” or anywhere near that, but my friend bought this when it went on sale and it is so wholesome and fun. genuinely good/tricky puzzles and silliness. ( I played this as a kid on the wii and am impressed with how intuitive my 11ish year old self must have been.)

a few days ago, i sat down and wrote out a specific morning routine for myself, in which the first thing i do is read an interview from The Creative Independent with a morning cup of coffee. they release a new interview every weekday, interviewing authors and artists from all over, who share their methods and creative process. i've found if i don't connect to the person they're interviewing, i can easily find one to read from their expansive collection. today's interview was with Kevin Barnes, who heads the band of Montreal. i found everything they said to be really insightful, and there was a lot to take away from their creative process. if you have the time, i really suggest you give it a read! before reading the interview, the only song of theirs that i knew was Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games. if you're looking for something new to listen to, you should totally give it a try!

i've noticed i haven't really cared for my current lifestyle - there are much more enriching things i could be a part of, and today is the day i start. listed below are the ways i'm starting fresh, and i think they could possibly be beneficial to others :) to-do: -change your wallpaper (phone & laptop) -change your desktop favorites -create a solid morning routine -cut your hair -go clean shaven (if you've kept your goatee for years) -paint your nails -delete old playlists you've been meaning to and make new ones! -expand your discography -go to bed at a decent hour! (this is so hard for me) i'm new here to PI.FYI and i absolutely love it, can't wait to start fresh and include y'all in my routine >:)

a few weeks ago, i bought my first pc from my friend, but for almost a year before that, i'd game with the laptop i use for college - but getting together a good group of friends and putting all of you in $10 games of chaotic quality has brought me an unreasonable amount of joy. the games i'd recommend are Lethal Company, Content Warning, LOCKDOWN Protocol, and even Phasmophobia if you're up for it. these games are definitely easy to get into, they were some of the first games i ever played on a computer!
