played this for my family because i thought i had heard this growing up, none of them knew it. did i hear this for the first time when spotify put it in a playlist for me? surely not. it’s so hard to know whether or not you’ve found music organically these days or just through instagram reels, especially when you can’t trust your own memory 😞😞

Every time I would hear this song on the radio my Dad would reminisce on how this album was the first cd he ever bought and how the lead singer tragically passed right before the band got famous. My Dad's away for the military often so hearing this song always reminds me of him making it weirdly heartwarming <3

my grandad would play this song on the guitar constantly when i was a small child until i learned the lyrics and was able to sing along with him. it was only a couple of years ago that i discovered it on spotify, all these years i’ve believed it was his own original song

we’re on the tail end of the phenomenon now but they r out in numbers that we haven’t seen since 1803. If you’re in the American MidEast go outside and let them fly into your unbrushed hair and remind you what it’s like to be so alive and so stupid and annoying and harmless and loud and ugly and free
