played this for my family because i thought i had heard this growing up, none of them knew it.
did i hear this for the first time when spotify put it in a playlist for me? surely not.
it’s so hard to know whether or not you’ve found music organically these days or just through instagram reels, especially when you can’t trust your own memory 😞😞
Jim Croce had some really great songs. Operator might be my personal favorite. I think I just like songs about longing lol. Like Telephone Line by ELO or Callin Baton Rogue by Garth Brooks. All songs I heard as a kid.
my grandad would play this song on the guitar constantly when i was a small child until i learned the lyrics and was able to sing along with him. it was only a couple of years ago that i discovered it on spotify, all these years i’ve believed it was his own original song
Parents fully genuinely called me a liar several times when I said I had never heard this. Trying to help others out so nobody else misses the same cultural moment that I apparently somehow did
No I don’t want your socials. I don’t want to know when you’re active and not replying, I don’t want to know when you’re posting stories or who you’re following. I don’t wanna know. Tell me in person, when we go on a date. I want you at complete face value with zero pre conceptions.
