If you are passionate about your hip mobility and amazing sleep, please, SLEEP ON THIS. We have been together for probably two years. And I donāt give a shit how goofy she looks. She changed my life. I donāt have any back pain and I donāt have any hip pain. I do other things to work on those issues, but SHE is the biggest contributor to the solution.
Bad sleep is hell and it will ruin you if you let it, so donāt be afraid of becoming a high-maintenance sleeper!! I am an expert level āhard time falling and staying asleepā sleeper and here is what has helped me get a full nights sleep pretty consistently: For my fellow side/back combo sleepers: -A knee pillow so your hips and legs donāt collapse on each other. It makes laying on your side so much more comfortable Iāve become highly dependent on it. Travel hack: use an airplane neck pillow instead because these are not easy to pack (I wishšš) itās not the same but itās better than nothing -a flat memory foam pillow so your neck is not tilting in a crazy direction. Pillow preferences are very personal so this might not work for you but if you have neck pain this might be why. - a throw pillow to hug, or any smaller pillow (or large stuffed animal if itās soft!) to keep your shoulders from collapsing in on each other For the light sensitive:
- i like this sleep mask because it doesnāt press up against your eyes and it blocks out everything Ok thereās more but I feel bad creating a super long post to scroll past for those who dont need this so I will make a pt.2 šš¼
Might sound like the most obvious thing in the world but over the past month iāve attempted to get as much sleep as possible and itās changed my life. I thought i could run on 6 hours. I can not. Sometimes youāre an 8 hour person. You need to own that. I am happier, quicker, more positive. Yeah maybe I am missing out on anything cool happening between the hours of 10:30pm and 6:30am midweek. But who cares!!! I am rested!
Wendyās Subway was one of the first "third places" I stumbled into after moving to NYC. Itās tucked away like some secret lair, and it's so beautiful in that "this-doesn't-fit-anywhere-else" way. It does so much, you can't really explain what it is. So I just call it a third place. You know, the kind of spot you go when you donāt want to hit a bar (because I don't drink) or pay for something (because... money). I go there to read, flip through a zine on some obscure political issue, or dive into a bi-weekly poetry writing event. It's so freakin' quiet and it'll let your brain take a nap. Do yourself a favor and go. Find community here. But check their website for hours/events first.
IDK why more people don't do this. Too Good To Go is an app that helps cut down on food waste. You basically grab a "surprise bag" of unsold food from restaurants, bakeries, or grocery stores for super cheap (like $4.99 for a whole bag!). It's filled with stuff that would've gone to waste (like it's expiring soon). You just reserve a bag, pick it up, and you're good to go. Honestly, I've scored some amazing deals. The video linked explains it well. Heads up thoughādepending on where you are and the timing, some bags might not be great, but if you do your research, itās totally worth it.
