Look, I know air fryers don’t need any more coverage. At this point, you’ve already decided whether you’re for or against them. That said, when I discovered you can hard boil (or soft boil, if that’s your thing) eggs without actually boiling water, it was a revelation. 250° for ~15 minutes then immediately plunge the eggs into a bowl of ice water couldn’t be easier, and then I’ve got little protein snacks for the work week

I can produce very few things in the kitchen and used to turn out the grossest hard boiled eggs. But, I’ve finally learned the way to do it impeccably and wanted to share here: boil the water first without the eggs. Once boiling, use a spoon to drop your egg(s) in (this part is important since otherwise the egg will crack). Set a timer for exactly 7 minutes and cook for no more no less. Then drain the eggs and immediately soak them in cold water (add ice cubes if you have them) to make them easier to peel. And voilà, you’ve made non-gross hard boiled eggs and have an easy, high-protein lunch or lil snack ready in your fridge (eat within 2 days for best experience).

i am at a point where i consistently never get the weird grey ring around the yolk… thats how i know i’ve perfected the art… let your eggs come up to boil with the water and then turn off the heat… 10 minutes later, dunk them into an ice bath or a constant rotation of cold water if you dont have ice… stops the cooking and voila you have perfectly boiled hard boiled eggs… ta da !

add a lil protein to that bad boy by soft boiling an egg. my method: place the egg in a small pot with room temp water covering the egg completely, turn the flame on high, get the water to a rolling boil, and let it boil for no more than 5 min (whereas 7 min is the perfect hard boil). Bonus points if you stick the egg in a bucket of ice water afterwards bc it helps the shell slip riiiiiight off 😏 enjoy

I just watched “Face/Off” for the first time a few days ago and feel like I’ve filled a void in my life that I wasn’t even aware of. If you like a heavy dose of action in your comfort cinema, I highly recommend. Like most movies from the 90s, not everything has aged well but cast aside your modern judgments for a bit and just enjoy Nicolas Cage doing The Most. In a similar vein, see also: the OG “Point Break” with Keanu and Patrick Swayze

An elite device in the kitchen and useful beyond fish. The thinness, combined with its long flared shape, helps you get under anything, no matter how delicate. If you’ve ever experienced the despair of your food tearing apart mid-flip, look no further.

Long live the Notes app, but nothing beats just writing something down right as it pops into your head. To serve the sense of urgency at all times, one will inevitably collect a large and eclectic array of notebooks and notepads. I am considering getting one of those slates that scuba divers use to communicate underwater and keeping it in the shower.
