my love for this album spawned from will's old newsletter where he wrote an eloquent ode to mornings with "Tezata" at it's center and i've associated this very cozy n warm track with a quiet start to the day ever since. if you're lucky enough to stay inside today (like me) queue up this one and start your day off right. 😌😌😌😌😌

I grew up listening to Mulatu Astatke. I also love Hailu Mergia, Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru… and compilation albums called Ethiopiques—pretty sure vol. 4 and 14 are exclusively instrumental jazz
