He also talks about the importance of having boys read more books in relation to the obtention of empathy, besides citing studies that suggest reading is very gendered as an activity, since boys have more reading problems than girls, and girls tend to read an increased amount for pleasure, in comparison to boys.

If you start reading again, you'll feel better. If you read in an omnivorous and far flung manner your days will get better. You will have more to say and more to think about. You can become an evangelical for reading from a place of pure desire and care. Unusual books contain unusual knowledge.
I will post books as an act of human class solidarity. Most posts will include a link to a digital copy, but you will love going to the library. We are lucky to get to hold books in our hands.

hear me out, i used to read a lot as a kid but i stopped as i grew up (prob cuz i was addicted to youtube/tiktok). But recently i started re-reading the 'diary of a wimpy kid' and 'Holes' on the bus and it kinda reminded me of why i loved it as a kid.
You can get them second hand for cheap and sometimes for free at the library. Just an idea to get u started !!
