i live away from home, have been for almost 4 years now; i’m studying in a city far away from home, and like all college students, i need coffee to function 🙏 here are some things i do to keep the beverage interesting :) • whipped coffee; beat instant coffee, sugar and a tiny bit of water till you see peaks forming, and pour in your choice of milk! can be had iced or hot. i love the little foam layer and bubbles that form on top.
• café medici(ish); add milk, cocoa powder and orange essence (pls don’t use orange juice because that’ll split the milk) to your instant coffee and you’ll have a rich, complex flavour which will warm you from the inside.
• cardamom café latte; prepare instant coffee in the normal way, add milk and sugar, and then add a pinch of cardamom powder! as an indian girlie, i love chai, so having coffee which reminds me of the flavour of chai is great ;)
• coffee cookie ice cream; get a tub of vanilla ice cream, and make a concentrated decoction with instant coffee. crush any cookies/biscuits off your choice. pour the decoction into the tub of ice cream and sprinkle in the crumbs as you mix. pop it back in the freezer for a while and then you’re done! enjoy.
• cran-coffee; if you’re not a fan of milk, make a weaker decoction of instant coffee, pour it into cold water, add some cranberry juice and sugar, with a twist of lime. top it off with some ice and you’ll have a refreshing earthy mocktail! what are your favourite ways to have coffee?
staysexyhavefun the cranberry combo slaps!! especially if you’re on your period because cranberry juice helps w blood cell regeneration :) lmk how you like them aaa
@PRINCESS pointed out Sweet Treats are capitalist propaganda and idk If I fully agree BUT I think a yummy latte is 200% more rewarding if you make it! my recipe: Brown sugar, instant espresso, milk, ice, optional vanilla extract and cinnamon. you also need a jar with a lid, so save one next Time you use a glass jar
—> boil some water, while it’s boiling put 2 Tbsp of instant espresso and at least as much brown sugar into your jar
—> pour enough water to dissolve (less than 1 espresso shot of liquid — your ice will add volume) and stir well
—> add ice and shake it around until it’s cold
—> fill the rest of the jar (leaving room for more ice) with milk and top with a splash of vanillla and a sprinkle of cinnamon, then put on the lid and SHAKE THAT FUCKER LIKE NOTHING MATTERS
—> fill the rest of the way with ice and enjoy :-)
I love to make a whole thing out of having caffeine by adding something different every now and then or elevating the drink with a steamed milk or infusion. Examples include adding mango nectar to my matcha lattes, adding chai to my iced lattes, mixing hibiscus tea into my green tea or adding fresh lemon, etc. Spending a little more time to jazz it up seems to be such a minute thing that has made the morning less painful
I know I can't recreate Philz level coffee with my shitty instant coffee but I've gotten as close as one can get. As a note for the reader, I do measure these with my heart but I've given estimated measurements so you can understand the ratios. Please remember it's more of a vibe. in a mug:
2 teaspoons instant coffee
a few dashes of cinnamon
1/2 cup hot water
mix it up in a jar:
3/4 tablespoon of brown sugar (you might be like hey moonbeams, that's a lot of sugar, well I now believe that coffee shop coffee tastes better because they are not afraid of consequences)
1/4 cup half and half
a splash of milk
close the lid and shake aggressively (I'm sure if you have a milk frother, now might be the time) put a few ice cubes into your hot coffee mug, swirl it around and pour it into your sweet creamer jar, this a super sweet and creamy dessert coffee, and it is so smooth and delicious, I might end up having a problem
it feels so empowering to walk around wearing ethnic clothes in a ‘modern’ city where the standard fashion is deeply influenced by the west. i will always love u, sarees <3 also, this is my mum’s saree, and many sarees are heirlooms passed down in the family. it’s quite literally, wearing your culture, carrying the stories of your ancestors with you! maybe this is why i like thrifted clothes lol
i'm back ! here's a little recap of what i've been up to:

- moved back home from the city my college is in

- and i'm working on trying to be more communicative. how are u guys :D
hi everyone, in light of the atrocities in Palestine, i’ve been trying to do what i can to help. i am a digital illustrator (i do concept art, character design and other work) and i’ve been taking art commissions to help donate to a family in Gaza. a 100% of whatever i earn from the commissions goes to my friend Ahmed and his family. ArtvsHate is a campaign i started back in 2020, to help people in India whose homes had been damaged in riots. this is the Palestinian edition of the same. through this campaign, i have been able to donate €100 to Ahmed and his family, but it doesn’t even come close to what they need to survive. if you’re interested in commissioning me, and donating to an extremely important cause, please see the link to my instagram post about what kinds of art you can commission me to make. Indian nationals can pay me and i’ll send the money in batches via Ahmed’s gofundme. people from other countries can donate and send me a screenshot of their payment! if you just want to donate, i will comment the link to Ahmed’s gofundme as well! we must do our part in helping the oppressed; we must do our part in helping Palestine 🇵🇸
