it feels so empowering to walk around wearing ethnic clothes in a ‘modern’ city where the standard fashion is deeply influenced by the west. i will always love u, sarees <3
also, this is my mum’s saree, and many sarees are heirlooms passed down in the family. it’s quite literally, wearing your culture, carrying the stories of your ancestors with you!
maybe this is why i like thrifted clothes lol

Western clothes are slowly becoming more Eastern anyway, because flowy linen and bright jewels are better ideas.

Gorgeous! The colors suit you very well! 🙂‍↕️ I always try to find an excuse to wear ethnic clothing here in London. There’s only one time ever I’ve pulled off wearing a saree.

It's not just about preserving your culture but also about wearing what brings you the most comfort. These clothes are made to accomodate the weather and climate of your region and have gone through atleast a few centuries worth of R&D. Wear them and you'll see a massive difference

Maybe my great great grandmother in Czechoslovakia was a diva and had a dress like this. Like this is so beautiful and I want it??

I recently realized that most of my favorite wardrobe items were things handed down by my mother or grandmother or friends, or things I found on the street, rather than items i went out amd sought. I think it is a nice to have the physical evidence of their presence.

hi everyone, in light of the atrocities in Palestine, i’ve been trying to do what i can to help.
i am a digital illustrator (i do concept art, character design and other work) and i’ve been taking art commissions to help donate to a family in Gaza. a 100% of whatever i earn from the commissions goes to my friend Ahmed and his family.
ArtvsHate is a campaign i started back in 2020, to help people in India whose homes had been damaged in riots. this is the Palestinian edition of the same.
through this campaign, i have been able to donate €100 to Ahmed and his family, but it doesn’t even come close to what they need to survive.
if you’re interested in commissioning me, and donating to an extremely important cause, please see the link to my instagram post about what kinds of art you can commission me to make. Indian nationals can pay me and i’ll send the money in batches via Ahmed’s gofundme. people from other countries can donate and send me a screenshot of their payment!
if you just want to donate, i will comment the link to Ahmed’s gofundme as well!
we must do our part in helping the oppressed; we must do our part in helping Palestine 🇵🇸

i'm back ! here's a little recap of what i've been up to: - had my first relationship (and my first breakup) - coloured my hair purple - finished my final year of college - moved back home from the city my college is in - started freelancing (i make illustrations!) - made art commissions to help financially support a palestinian family - started reviewing matcha around my city (attached a photo of my friend and i at a matcha rave??) - and i'm working on trying to be more communicative.
