Motherfuckin' right, yeah, V to the 10 -Shakespeare.
i don’t know why or how but the occasion to say this actually comes up fairly often?
it’s a reference to the scene in lady bird when lady bird and julie get in their big argument and lady bird says she refused to be in the play bc she was cast as the tempest in william shakespeare’s the tempest. which is not a role. though it is the titular role.
my best friend and i more or less use this as a replacement for “case in point” (but the delivery is important. it can’t be it’s the titular role. it has to be it’s the TITular. ROLE.) and it’s endlessly funny to me.
