an intuitively mindful activity that humans have been doing forever. despite its innate destruction i find myself feeling connected to the earth. some logs are harder to chop through if they have knots, even in death the tree’s commitment to self preservation is admirable.

a tube of terror. it can reduce a full ass tree to tiny shreds with no effort. i can never get the image of a human goop oozing out the chute. unfortunately i live in a woody area and i see them everywhere and it genuinely makes me sick :/

uhhhhhh actually i am creating new life and investing in microbiomes not known to you yet simply by laying very still and watching love is blind all day. this is productive and necessary.

Growing up we used to help rake the dead leaves in the yard in to a big pile every fall. At the end we got to jump into the piles and play as a reward for helping. The leaves had a sweet decaying smell to them.

this is the best example of “less is more” in action. lengthen this period of celebration by orchestrating a few different small group events, it allows you to focus more of your time and energy on the people you’re with rather than trying to spread yourself thin between everyone you know being in the same place all at once. the pressure of wanting things to go right on this one special evening is lessened, bc you know you’re going to have more opportunities. allows for diversity of vibe (i can do dinner AND a picnic AND a bar hang!!) less overwhelming and more funnnnnn
