We are pretty adamant about recording the drums and guitar at the same time. It’s important for us to be in agreement about song structure and tonality when we’re getting a basic track. Less things to fix or think about later. We used to record the vocals live years ago. But why not use the linear aspect to use time getting an appropriate performance and really think about some cool overdubs?
It’s such a simple way to show solidarity towards your Palestinian siblings and it will keep your neck warm this coming winter. I love mine to bits. It’s from the Hirbawi factory in Gaza. I will cherish it for many years to come.
It gives you a broader understanding of the music you do play, and makes you a better comrade to those who do perform those instruments. Learn a pitched instrument, an un-pitched percussion instrument, a chordal one, a monophonic one, to sing… They all make you better.
