I have been known to hate on France for no particular reason, but this video convinced me that it is a special place. I don’t know the context nor do I want to. The scene is uncanny yet the emotion is so pure...dare I say, Lynchian?
his films are so expressive and fantastical and above all beautiful
in the photos:
the young girls of rochefort (1967)
the umbrellas of cherbourg (1964)
bay of angels (1963)
donkey skin (1970)
Put on the robe, turn on adult swim or whatever, crank the ac, eat a late night snack in one bed and sleep in the other. The freedom of impersonal liminal space.
