these epic mysteries will sustain you through the fall and probably beyond — mystery, drama, romance, there's a lot in each one
by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling)
first in the series: The Cuckoo's Calling
i know jk rowling suxxxxx and i was never a harry potter kid but the cormoran strike murder mystery series she writes under the name robert galbraith is the dumbest funnest most satisfying type of trash read for me and im re-reading them because im in a sad place mentally and i am comforted by the fantasy of likeable people solving crimes and getting justice.
I’ve read all of the (huge!) books in this series since Christmas. and the spinoffs. They’re so good. Somehow completely captivated me. Would recommend if you want fiction, strong women, time travel, some history, drama and cliffhangers
With your interest in whimsy and YA fiction I would highly recommend Shepherd King Duology by Rachel Gillig. I flew through these books they were so engaging and had a really interesting magic system and a plot that doesn’t follow the standard “chosen one” you see in a lot of fantasy.
this is worthy of celebration: the lack of video—autoplay video, noisy inane video, panicky video, algorithmic, dumb video, rabbit hole video, any video—on pi.fyi is a good thing
