a risograph is a japanese copy machine from the 80s that doubles as a printmaking machine... here are some little books and zines I've made on it recently (pls ignore my messy desk 🫣)
joekirwan you should try it! this website has a list of riso printers around the world so there might be one near you that has classes or at least allows you to rent it out https://www.stencil.wiki/atlas
First PI.FYI mention in a zine? Like an itty bitty one? Printed these out today and am selling them for $3 plus shipping. DM on Insta if you wanna purchase. Mostly just posting this Rec to show this page haha
i first did a linocut print for a class last year, and i bought some of my own tools (a little starter kit was like $19 at hobby lobby), and i love that i can make the design once and then print with it as many times as i want! the carving process is very meditative to me- it doesn't take much thinking once you have the design on the block. personally i prefer rubber carving blocks over lino because its much easier to cut tho
This is a type of walk I do almost every day. Walk in one direction until you hit a stoplight. Then immediately turn and walk in the new direction until you hit a stoplight and repeat until you get back home.
