just watched notting hill for the first time on the eve of my 24th birthday and wow a romcom hasnβt made my heart soar like that in so long 10/10 certified banger π«ΆπΎ
I watched Notting Hill for the first time tonight with a couple of my friends, and it was so good!! It's so so human, I love how all the characters around William are kind as a bottom line. They all have their own personalities and quirks but they all really care about each other. And his patience and easy going care for his friends and their interfriendship dynamics are just so perfect. Also his humor oh my god, it's impeccable (if anyone has movies with his humor I need the recs). And it's definitely me projecting my own issues but the thing where they just keep coming back to each other is somehow irresistible (even though I disliked that Anna never technically addresses her mistake, it was not totally unrealistic of her not to tho).
His films are so funny and smart and calculated. It's all about the sinister nature of humanity and fears. They're not at all boring and they're super classic genre so.
