A novel about a Palestinian teacher in NYC slowly unraveling and getting involved in a Birkin bags scheme. First book this year I read in one sitting. Touching, weird, bleak, but funny and very real.
SUCH a wild ride, weโve got an affair, a celeb psychic medium, an inter-dimensional cloud of ancestral grief, a failing marriage (and a pregnancy), the Russian Revolution, generational trauma, Soviet orphanages, and at least three questionable women โI feel like this is a superb book for the Moshfegh, batuman, emma cline, Mona Awad crowds

rating: 5 stars beautifully written and funny memoir covering some very difficult topics
Auto-fiction in the au courant/Rachel Cusk bent about a female writer in her 50s. Beautifully written and just brimming with wit. I donโt have her gifts so I canโt begin to do it justice, but just read it.
Didnโt actually realize this was the third in a trilogy (a repeat mistake for this guy). Felt even more atmospheric not having the context of the first two.
