i was a teen then, my mom got tickets to the local premiere and took me. we had no idea what to expect and it was the most fun and memorable theater experience. whole theater breaking out in laughs and just genuinely being delighted the whole time! by the end you could tell everyone left knowing that this movie was gonna be special :)
It has maybe become a corny favorite for some, but I was there and can tell you there was NOTHING like this movie when it came out. It felt so exciting to witness. And it didn’t do amazing at the box office so it truly felt like you were in on an amazing secret. I saw it once and then came back the next day and dragged a friend to it. I’ll never forget how those opening credits made me feel.
i know i'm late to the party, but i finally watched "Scott Pilgrim Takes Off" and it was amazing! idk why i assumed it would just be an animated version of the movie, but i'm really glad it wasn't. it really makes sense too- honestly who would go out of their way to watch it without having seen the original movie! i don't want to spoil anything about the series, but i really loved the plot. i also loved all of the little details and that they kept that consistent with edgar wright's iconic directing style from the movie. i would rate it an 8/10!
