It has maybe become a corny favorite for some, but I was there and can tell you there was NOTHING like this movie when it came out. It felt so exciting to witness. And it didn’t do amazing at the box office so it truly felt like you were in on an amazing secret. I saw it once and then came back the next day and dragged a friend to it. I’ll never forget how those opening credits made me feel.
i was a teen then, my mom got tickets to the local premiere and took me. we had no idea what to expect and it was the most fun and memorable theater experience. whole theater breaking out in laughs and just genuinely being delighted the whole time! by the end you could tell everyone left knowing that this movie was gonna be special :)
Not the best or my favorite movie I’ve ever attended, but you could feel the cinema was rapt and hanging on every word, and the gasps were all in unison. Then when the credits rolled everyone just stayed in their seat for a few minutes not even talking just processing, we were rocked. Such a memorable movie going experience.
