I’m bad at learning western languages I think it’s remembering the gender of random objects like oh ok apples are boys. English doesn’t have that. Japanese doesn’t have that. And as an English speaker it’s kind of fun to do the puzzle of where what words go where. Maybe try Japanese it’s not the most practicable but that’s a boring way to choose

So good for your brain! its like a fun puzzle and challenge. It doesn’t even matter if it’s something “””useful””” , language is just super cool!!

I restarted learning Japanese again and someone sent me a Youtube playlist of someone explaining sentence structures. They prefaced the series by saying that the reason you have struggled for so long is that they keep trying to teach Japanese in English ways, when in reality their language structures are completely different. She then started to explain the particles and it turns out my understanding of “wa” (は actually “ha”) was not really correct, they explained its true form, and everything clicked for me.

Fun fact I took four years of Japanese in high school up to the AP level not in a weeaboo way 💅 I prefer Bunpo to Duolingo for refreshing and maintaining proficiency. Apparently they also have Spanish, Korean, French, German, and Chinese!

Being comfortable is nice when it’s a reward but as a state of being it’s boring and makes you boring and a boring life is a waste of whatever this is supposed to be. Go be uncomfortable (me talking to me)

1. Don’t go to sleep until at least an hour after you stopped drinking 2. Chug like a litre of water with liquid IV 3. Pee like twice before you pass out 4. Wake up kinda early and chug a liquid IV water again 5. Eat a sausage egg and cheese sandwich (replace where dietary restrictions apply) 6. Take a cozy nap for an hour before noon

If you don’t define yourself by “what you do” then you can comfortably try (and fail usually) at everything. Do what you love until you don’t love it and then do something else. dont equate “what I do” with “with my life”. If you have a canvas and you paint something and you say wow this is garbage, just paint something different! life’s only as serious as you make it out to be. Enjoy it and learn shit.
