In Colombia we celebrate el Día de las Velitas or Day of the Little Candles (translated literally). This is a day celebrated on December 7th to acknowledge the immaculate conception of Virgin Mary. People around Colombia gather to light up candles for her.
The candles have another purpose though, and that is the one of making wishes. Per every candle, you make a wish of whatever you want. You get as many wishes as you have candles.
