I randomly bought this graphic novel today and I really am obsessed with it. It’s a coming of age story with the most beautiful illustrations ever. I highly recommend checking it out or just checking out Tony Sandoval’s work. I read the whole thing today and it’s my new fave.
The Sandman is one of my favourite comic series!! pls read it guys, Its about everything, the power of dreams, changes, love and loss, triumph and failure, good and evil and desire. etc. Its a literary masterpiece thats based on european folklore and you should read it it really is THAT good!!! also the artwork is amazing
he’s an independent comic legend from the 90s and is still active today. most people know his book ”ghostworld” and the film adaptation. i highly recommend reading everything of his. no superheroes, no bullshit, real slice of life, bizzaro stuff, absurdist neo-noir, great commentary and clearly a dude who likes to people watch and then draw the weirdos he sees. huge inspo to me. reading his books and shorts feel like you’re watching a movie, the beautifully drawn and hilarious and full of emotion. favs:
