saw billy woods and elucid, otherwise known as armand hammer this october. super talented individuals, had a great chat after the show, got a pic with them and had my vinyl signed. true legends of the underground, tap into their music if you haven't so already.

this was right before the worldwide lockdown in 2020. it was surreal for me, especially since i'd only started becoming obsessed with their music in 2019 and never thought i'd get to see them in my city, because indie artists rarely made a stop here.
but i got to meet them! got to chat for a bit before the gig, they signed my CD. super chill, nice dudes, and freakin tall, especially andrew / deb demure (frontman) β my asian ass looked like a hobbit next to them.
anyway, it was a really small venue, so the gig was pretty intimate. i got to be in the front row, i was literally standing just a few inches away from alex / mona d (keys). they were amazing live. one of the best darkwave bands ever. hope to see them again someday

i saw them last week and it was mind-blowing showmanship teetering performance art. also jorge elbretch joined in on guitar which ruled. thick crazy bass & big vocals - blends 80s sounds of siouxsie and the banshees, yello, and gang of four

raw thoughts on this record . released in 2012 by dean blunt and inga copeland, otherwise known as the electronic duo hype williams, black is beautiful is a really raw and underappreciated album. its a gloriously scattered mess that deconstructs pop to its most bare and confusing form. Please listen to it.

standing on the corner have and always will be on my radar. brings some kind of inner peace to me. brown marv / slasoun melone / aja grantonthekeys and gio escobar are high key magicians. love every one of the members though.
