♟️My dad is so excited I’m learning to play chess and called me to say I can come play with him if I want any training lessons. It’s so cute to hear him be so animated about his hobby and happy that I’m learning it too. I really recommend it.

😃ive recently had the privilege to watch my dad fall back in love with music. its always been a big part if my life and its what i hope to pursue as a career, and its always been around the house. but as of late, ive noticed my dad is always playing something and he sings and dances along. its beautiful to see him enjoying something so much.

(or anything your dad’s really into). Not gonna stop talking about it! learning chess has really opened up insight into my dad‘s life that i didnt even know I was missing. He messaged me today when I’d just played a game on chess.com saying “ahhhh a draw” cause he’s been watching it 😭
When he added me I discovered that in 2016 he wrote little summary blogs for his games and I don’t know why but it’s making me want to actually cry. We played a game at my dining table the other day and he taught me some stuff and then he called me after watching me play a game online to say that the way I doubled my rooks was almost exactly the same as the way he’d shown me in our game.

🥿I went to a friend’s birthday party last night who I hadn’t seen in almost 2 years and I was nervous about it until I noticed the amount of septum piercings in the room. Huge difference. This may be a regular thing in nyc or something but I’m in north Florida baby and it was beautiful.

📮Slow communication is what I think I was born for.
The fact that people used to still be considered good friends but not know everything going on with each other until they maybe ran into them on the street is so beautiful to me.
I think it really allowed for our internal worlds to develop and flourish while making those moments you share with others so much more meaningful.
Anyhow I’m doing this with my friend who is moving to Kansas and it makes me so happy, I’m buying cute stationary for us. Maybe even a wax stamp maker.
