ive recently had the privilege to watch my dad fall back in love with music. its always been a big part if my life and its what i hope to pursue as a career, and its always been around the house. but as of late, ive noticed my dad is always playing something and he sings and dances along. its beautiful to see him enjoying something so much.

I enjoy listening to my dad’s favorite music from when he was a teenager. Imagining him listening to all his favorite hair metal bands on a cassette player, reveling in his teenage angst makes me feel closer to him.

I’m so happy and grateful to have grown up with a dad who taught me to love books, movies and music - when i was a kid he would wake me up every morning by singing a song from singing in the rain
as i’ve gotten older i’ve loved being able to discuss all kinds of media with him (and being able to steal books from his collectio)

It’s soul healing I think. Went to see They Might Be Giants with my dad and cried at Birdhouse thinking about 8 year old me singing it with my dad. We‘ve also seen Belle and Sebastian and Yeah Yeah Yeahs together. He said we just need to see Avril Lavigne and Blondie now and we’ll have seen all the bands we used to cover when I was little (him on guitar me singing). Just go to gigs with your dad, the best gig companion.

I just recently listened to “Hello My Name Is…” for the first time all the way through and omg. I wish I had a better way of explaining what I feel. This album is pure nostalgia. We all know and love “Hurricane” and ”Ready or Not”, and the entire rest of the record lives up to that. I’ve had it on repeat for days now.

i dream of living in a world where we arent so consumed by media and technology. i would love to see how i could cope for a few hours doing normal things without my phone. but then again, who doesnt long for that freedom?

this album was really influential to both of my parents so naturally i fell in love. i think its one of the best albums ive ever listened to. it makes me nostalgic for the rebellious teen phase i never had that im trying to live out now at 22.
