Caleb Joseph was my first post on here when I recommended his video: A Complete History on my Feud With Colleen Hoover (hilarious btw). Now I rec one of my favorite videos on the internet, Caleb Joseph watching every ripoff from The Fault in Our Stars. He essentially analyzes the formula that these movies use to kind of fetishize and mystify at the same time, people with illnesses, from cancer (it's always cancer, isn't it?) to those weird diseases that almost nobody has, like being allergic to the sun, etc. Through an ironic and satirical lens, he exposes his opinion. It's such a funny video to me and hopefully you can watch. It echoes one of my recent anti-recs, which is how I remembered this gem existed in the first place. I just think he hits the nail on the head with this one.

We read the most disgusting Colleen Hoover Book so you don’t have to : they literally read it all the way through while making funny commentary. So far, it’s like four videos For different books of the same author. Wrapping gifts using no tape with Rajiv Surendra: I recommend his channel in general because he’s so calming to watch. He has a clear vision about this channel and executes it so elegantly. The Juno Effect: the teen pregnancy panic: discusses the interesting phenomenon of pregnancy panic that was frequent in the 2010’s primarily. I looove Mila Tequila. The Last Bronycon: a fandom autopsy: pretty self-explanatory. Disney Channelā€˜s Theme: a History Mystery: they unveil who made the famous early 2000’s Disney channel theme song. So engaging. I watched every ā€œThe Fault In Our Starsā€ ripoff: Caleb hilariously evaluates the problem with romanticizing diseases through movies. The comments in this one are funny as well. Good teeth are a luxury only the rich can afford: title is self-explanatory. What made it so compelling to me, is the fact that she shared her own experience while growing up poor and not being able to afford to have nice teeth, which rooted what she was saying to her own reality. I feel like it doesn’t happen as much with people who do video essays anymore, but I found it touching.

Caleb revises his criticism, which was uploaded to YouTube back in the day, directed at Colleen Hoover when he was only a teenager and she wasn’t that well known Of an author. He stands corrected in some factors of said criticisms (which in this day and age, was frankly, unexpected), but over anything else, he emphasizes how damaging her novels can be in a hilarious yet poignant way. I personally haven’t read any of Hoover’s books but this motivated me to not do it, ever. She’s a scary woman. Putting that aside, this is one of my favorite YouTube videos.

Currently getting through Dan Olson/Folding Idea’s latest video. All of his stuff is great and thoroughly well researched. Some of my fave videos of his: Tuca & Bertie, Flat Earth, and *his critique* of the Nostalgia Critic's *critique* of The Wall by Pink Floyd - his videos on NFTs and The Metaverse are fantastic too In no particular order, here's some more YouTubers I'm subbed to: (would love to write up a paragraph for each of them but don't want to take up too much space!)
