"Conversation" was the poem that made me get into her work.
Anything in her book *Vice* is sublime, but highlights for me include "The Journalist" and "The Cockfighter's Daughter"
something about it...it's just so strong. i think a good poem follows emily dickinson's rule - "tell the truth, but tell it slant." - but telling the truth slant sometimes means you lose directness and urgency. i think angela jackson manages to walk the line between slant and direct really well
it’s one of the first poetry books i read as a whole and absolutely got me deep into poetry. i find her work soooo accessible—and yet it retains depth/wit.
she’s a voice of our time—our current poet laureate :3
Poetically, this was going to be the last date before I delete Hinge and take a break for a few months.

On the bright side, I did get to see this bathroom with two stand mixers and a printer in it
