the adrenaline rush of feeling chased for some reason, music blasting in one airpod and the quasi-silent hustle-bustle of suburbia and a nearby freeway, the sentiment that i have to go faster and faster to get back home. especially now in the winter when it’s bone chilling cold where i live and i want to create a paradoxical warmth in my body where the quicker i break the thick dusk air, the colder my interior gets but the hotter my exterior gets. weird but the endorphins come in abundance every time

To me a long run is five miles. To some people that’s so long they can’t believe it and to other people that’s barely getting started. To me it was the perfect distance that my body wanted to move.
when I started my run, I was really out of rhythm. I was going too fast, I couldn’t find the right tempo and then when I did I would approach a stop light where I had to pause and lose my stride. I was getting frustrated but then I just kept trying to remember all the times I had a really good tempo for my run! And eventually I leveled out and got there. My goal for March was to run 50 miles and I hit that pretty easily (Thank you to the weather gods). I think the best thing about running is listening to your body, appreciating what it gives you (which is different for everyone!), and seeing constant progress even if it’s small.

Yes, at night. I am not a sporty person at al but since finishing my finals I have been in a slump so I felt the need to move. But I am always embarrassed about the fact I can't run (it was more of a run walk run walk situation) and I didn't want people to see me. So I went at night, in the rain. A time when NO ONE ever wants to be outside! who am I? What am I doing? Why did I do it? No one knows but I had fun! Maybe I should care less.
