This is my dadโs favorite movie of all time (2000s version). We watched it a lot when I was a kid but I only remembered bits of it. Recently I read the book, became obsessed with the story and rewatched it. I have to say it is severely underrated and follows the book as close as it can for about a 2hr film. The ending of the movie is much more satisfying than in the book.
One of the greatest masterpieces of cinema ever conceived. If you have the chance to see it on the big screen, itโs a must! The score, the costumes, the sets, everything makes this a spectacle demanding your full attention.
La Chimera has amazing cinematography, great lighting, etc. Itโs done everything right. Something about the washed out color palette is so pleasing. The part I like the most is the depiction of an Italy thats not perfect like Tuscany or Lake Como. Itโs so real and beautiful despite being more industrial and less glam than what youโd expect. Il Gattopardo (1963โ I differentiate because Netflix is releasing a new adaptation next month) has costumes to die for. Itโs rural, itโs dramatic, itโs very special.
I failed to stop on my walk last night and couldn't stop thinking about how nice that one part was so I had to go out of my way to return and take a picture so I could find out it was honeysuckle
