I used to crash after work even i get off work relatively early (16:15) but I used to feel completely energy drained. I would feed and walk my dogs real quick, lay down, order dinner, root, sleep, repeat... I am from a small town in the seaside but I live in a huge city (Shanghai) for work and there are to beaches. I recently moved close to a river and also very close to my workplace. I have been following this routine: get off work, feed my dogs, take a 10 min break and do nothing other than petting my dogs (no screens, no musics, no podcasts, nothing at all, just cuddles) and then take my dogs to the river and walk for one and a half hours. It has been life changing, I feel way more energized now, I get back home from the doggie walk and still feel like moving around the house, cooking, dealing with chores, dancing, you name it. I take way better care of myself now. Eat healthier, make sure I take my vitamins, and also sleep million time better. Small but super effective change :)

I’ve had an exhaustive year that put my energy and circadian rhythm off balance. now I’ve been following what’s natural to me for long enough to actually feel amazingly better, do exercise, cardio and a short walk each day do constant acts of creativity (design, writing, development, cooking) I even manage to swim and hit the beach, read, play video games and watch films. living the life I love, finally

Not as a vacation, just briefly doing your normal life stuff elsewhere. That always helps me ease into a new routine whether it’s waking up earlier or exercising. Stuff is already a bit different, so easier to remove habits that you feel stuck in at home. Personally, I dog sit a lot so that I can easily find longterm places to stay for free. (If you can, realize not everyone has dumb computer jobs and has to be in set locations).

put the energy somewhere: my go-to's - a long late-night walk - always shower + stretch before bed - crying, reading, handwriting to exhaustion - a nighttime routine that includes tea - counting down from 10 again and again - same song on repeat (lullaby) - early morning sun and watch the sunset

“In Vietnamese, the word for missing someone and remembering them is the same: nhớ. Sometimes, when you ask me over the phone, Có nhớ mẹ không? I flinch, thinking you meant, Do you remember me? I miss you more than I remember you.” - On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous
