So I’m not normally a breakfast person but I started eating breakfast when I was also trying to lose weight, and I lost around 20lbs so this is what I did: I always make sure the first thing I do in the morning is drink water, I used to immediately go for coffee so I wasn’t grouchy but it can spike your cortisol levels on an empty stomach and lead to bloating and extra weight in in your stomach from the hormones. So water first, and then always always always a protein filled breakfast. Whether it‘s a yogurt parfait, eggs, cottage cheese and fruit, etc. Protein helps you feel fuller but upping the amount of protein you eat per day will also help you lose weight. My faves: cottage cheese with peaches or pineapple on top, omelettes with veggies, yogurt with berries, shakshuka, panagyurishte style eggs (it’s like the Bulgarian take on Turkish eggs). I also ate a lot of those zero sugar yogurt cups like the light + fit zero sugar ones, some flavors are actually really good.

i always had issue eating sweet and heavy things early in the morning bc they made me feel so sick and i basically had to force it down. i’ve said it here before but i love quesadillas in the morning bc they’re fairly quick yet so filling and give you so much energy. i also make baked pita “pizzas” w olive oil, feta, spinach, roasted peppers…honestly whatever i have in the fridge. i really love a good egg and french fry moment when im feeling lazy :) or leftover rice and beans. i always pair anything i eat with a hot tea or some kombucha for easy digestion.

i only started doing this at the end of college but before that, I wasnt eating until 1 pm (just from not making a schedule) or smth and I’d always feel ill by that time. I know breakfast isn’t for everyone (intermittent fasters ur stronger than I) but a bowl of yogurt + granola (usually) starts my day with needed energy— I feel alert and ready to pounce. 😼

Cottage cheese with honey mixed in and berries, and peanut butter honey toast with sliced bananas. It’s perfect before a workout :)

So we all think it’s sketchy that Tik Tok is already back right? And that they posted a statement kissing Trump’s ass and making him out to be the one saving Tik Tok when he isn’t even sworn in yet? And now Trump wants the US government to have a 50% ownership, aka turning Tik Tok into state owned media just like I thought was happening. And I’m sure most people won’t be able to stay away from Tik Tok and Meta which is so disappointing. I want nothing to do with Tik Tok now because I know the app as we knew it is already gone at this point.

There’s something about the quality of digital camera photos that make a picture of anything you take look more pleasing (to me anyway). The nostalgia, the saturation, I love them. I have a couple cameras that still work from when I was a kid, but I also bought one on eBay that was similar to one that used to be a favorite of mine. I just throw it in my purse and take it everywhere, and it’s so much more fun than trying to get the “perfect shot,” especially now that I’ve deleted Meta and gone with Pixelfed it seems that people love posting anything from the little things they see or their drinks. It’s making photo sharing fun again! Although, if you do download Pixelfed (which isn’t the point of this post but) I highly recommend using it in your browser on your phone for now, they’ve already made things run smoother from when I first downloaded but they’re definitely still working on the app.

I’ve already read 48 books in 2025 while being on my flip phone, social media detox life. Yes, some of them were just trashy romance, but still. It’s been so nice to get back into reading for enjoyment again. It’s nice to be out and about and not have that constant urge to reach for a phone and check notifications. I don’t even have most social media apps downloaded on this anymore, I love this app though, and the urge to click on an app and doom-scroll is nonexistent. This brick of technology has really turned into my iPod and Kindle, and the occasional pop back on here.
