this app, not really an app, has actually been around for something like 149 years and it is fantastic
I've been down the searching for the perfect messaging app rabbit hole more times and for more hours than I care to confess. I got the people in my life on Google Hangouts. Then dragged them to Whatsapp. Then convinced them to move over to Signal. I realize that I was looking for something that an app couldn't satisfy: a healthier/better way of communicating.
Lately I've just been loving having phone calls with people. Or Facetime or zoom convos. It's real and dynamic.
What's some of what you are looking for?
it's my understanding that americans get away with SMS and iMessage, but the european experience is juggling WhatsApp and Signal and Discord and Instagram and Facebook Messenger... Beeper fixes this. download one app for the sake of muting six. it's a fair trade.
This is a pyramid scheme that I like. It’s this app that gives you all this credit to buy products whenever you invite a new person to the app. It’s a huge data farm. I use it sparingly to get Olaplex but it’s very easy to go too far with it.
this is worthy of celebration: the lack of video—autoplay video, noisy inane video, panicky video, algorithmic, dumb video, rabbit hole video, any video—on pi.fyi is a good thing
