What privilege it is to wake up to the beautiful sun rays beaming from my windows to lighten up my room. What privilege is it that these same windows are bringing a beautiful breeze that tickles my body. What privilege that the same beautiful room decorated by sun shine is the same room that brings me comfort and rest. A space where my self can come out safely. What privilege it is to have a self that is actively taking me to places where I can indulge in delicious foods, listen to eargasmic music, acquire knowledge and be engulfed by the beauty of the life. It is these things that make up the root of my existence, the reason to my being. May I continue to indulge in the beautiness of the otherwise mundane.

What a lovely read, a privilege in itself. Thank you for sharing (: I find it really grounding to unironically ✹touch grass✹ when I’m stuck in a mental rut. Even on overcast or rainy days, to know that sunlight will eventually peek through again to touch the ground, the space I share, and my skin, like a “howdy, I’m still here! and so are you!!”  to exist alongside other living beings and shared experiences! Like, *woah* dude. Sunlight, warmth, rain, cold, wind, scents, sound, *touch* - we may be all slowing fading, but enduring, just like everything else we share the world with  entropy doesn’t have to be apathetic

softshelled Now THIS is a read that one can be privileged to say that they have read. I believe that we were designed to exist with nature. It's in our 5 senses, hands, feet, neural network. We're wired to make a meaningful connection with the warmth of the sun, the smell of flowers, the view of the beautiful trees, the taste of fruit, the sound of the wind. This is exactly why all the disciplines of health encourage us to meditate, eat healthy, go out and touch grass. The idea of returning to unadulterated nature away from concrete, exhaust-filled air and highly-processed eatery is like returning to the root of our existence.

The fact that i can stay in bed warm with my phone or laptop and music in the background as i watch my favourite movies/series/youtube vids with a warm tea is simple enough to make me grateful for wherever i am today. Worrying about what I should wear to work is a beautiful thing because it’s a privilege that sadly some people can’t afford :( Complaining about to cook is a beautiful thing because someone somewhere sadly can’t even afford/have access to a simple bread piece. Literally feeling the warmth of the sun while standing waiting for the bus is a beautiful thing to cherish and be grateful for.

I don t even know how to describe but the green that shows up in the morning, the way the sunlight glistens and reflects all the beauty of every surface that it shines on when you pay attention, the unique smells that the wind carries when you truly take a deep breathe in and focus on it ,the beauty of the clouds at the start of every sunset ,man the way a dog looks at you like you’re the most important thing in the world after you just give it a pat, the silent melody that the trees make on a windy day reminding you that there is beauty even in the small movements of simple leaves, everything about our planet is actually beautiful ngl I just think we always get so mogged down by our daily lives that we never really get to appreciate it

I think the idea of hating on trendy things for the sake of wanting to be seen as different is very corny. I understand that not developing your own sense of style and copying whatever you see on tiktok or ig without adding your personal touch is an indicator of the lack of creativity, but that (imo) doesn't apply to people that genuinely like the item/style...If you for example like sambas or the leopard print baggy jeans and can get multiple uses out of them then that's great! you're not a microtrend final boss if you wear these items...

No matter how hard or uncomfortable it is, you have to sit with them, you have to listen to your voices....And if you have the mental energy to do so, write them down. Often times, the feelings you dismiss as minor end up having the most impact on your overall health (be it mental or physical)....Your body can feel when you're suppressing your emotions and it unfortunately makes you prone to diseases and disorders (believe me, I am currently being diagnosed for crohn's)...You also become more agitated and exhausted without knowing why.... These repressed feelings can be in the form of burn-outs, intrusive thoughts, anxieties, or any strong emotion you face throughout the day. Regardless, you have to address them...

A couple of months ago I fell into the rabbit hole of productivity. I was listening to motivating podcasts and was actually getting more productive up to a certain point where I started getting burnt out and was experiencing a horrible surge of IBD symptoms. Every time I gave myself some form of rest I'd feel guilty and be invaded by the voices of boss ladies telling me to get out of bed and do something. Though I'd end up getting up everytime, I was forcing myself to do work I didn't want to do and a result, I became a more irritated and tired person. Unbeknownst to me, I was becoming bed-ridden due to my autoimmune disease and was forcing myself to work through it. Outcome: My body crashed on me as soon as I finished the term and I didn't get the result I wanted (I got a good GPA overall, but my CGPA is still at a C+ with no chance of raising it again) This term started and I only have 1 subject and my thesis left and I decided to give my body the chance to rest and detach myself from outcomes since nothing I can do will raise my CGPA to a B. Outcome: I ended up highly fatigued and can barely get up and do anything. Don't get me wrong, I am doing well in that class I'm in and I got a good chunk of my thesis done, but nonetheless I was exhausted. I was bedrotting for weeks under the guise of letting go of control and letting the world take me where it wants me to take. At the end I became empty with no energy to do things I actually want to do. This got me wondering: To what extent should we be productive and when do we give ourselves rest? How do we become productive without burning our bodies out? How do we give ourselves rest without slipping into bed-rotting? How do we get up and become productive after weeks of slump without forcing our bodies to do things it doesn't want? How do we convince a productivity junkie that they need rest and actually enjoy the rest? How does one get out of this cycle?
