one of the few positives of having a hell device in your pocket is being able to watch geniuses at work whenever you please. braulio amado is one of those said geniuses. often times the painter, illustrator and graphic designer will include the regular objects that inspired him in the posts showcasing his work, revealing how his mind is able to bend even the most mundane of subjects into something incredible. one of my biggest artistic inspirations currently working. check him and his brilliant processes out @braulioamado on instagram.

I actually have a portfolio with most of my creative projects! I've done brandings, worked with creative coding and AI, made some fonts, created some packaging concepts and the list goes on :D
I mainly work as a product designer, so when i've started studying art direction on the master programm in my alma mater, it gave me an opportunity to explore my creativity and learn more about visual metaphors and ways of conveying ideas. It felt like breathing the fresh air of freedom, and i liked to work on passion projects when you aren't limited with the demands of your customer.

As a graphic designer, I’ve worker with clients that have forced me to use Gen AI. And I’m just sick of it. It’s soulless, it’s corporate, it’s lazy and just making a product for product’s sake. So now, I’m really trying to make art and designs that aren’t fully digital. I want my designs to feel more human and tactile. I’m going to start by collecting old magazines and buying a kit for cleanly cutting them off. I’m thinking of practicing collaging among other stuff.
But also, I’m starting by trying not to judge my work so much and just embrace the imperfections of it.
Hopefully, I get to a place where I’m proud of my work.

i have a kind of corporate graphic design job and i haven’t really done a project 4 myself since i graduated so i decided to have a little creativity session w one of my best friends (who is also a graphic designer) and we built a concept for a project we are really excited about 😛
safe to say sometimes we’ve gotta sacrifice our free time of doing nothing to start chasing the things we want out in the world.

i know for a fact that i’m guilty of wanting that dopamine hit of having people see my posts and like them, but i’m trying to change my mentality around that here. i’m finding myself more at peace just posting my recommendations and taking solace that someone might find them in the future and enjoy what i suggest, rather than needing an instant gratification of a like. i feel as though i’m adding a brick to the communal building that is this cool userbase of interesting people.
