I swear to god these movies changed my life... relatable to the current state of the world in every way. I think I have Jedi-like qualities… the force is strong with me… or at least my cat Peanut Butter gives Yoda vibes down… anyways I have never experienced such a nuanced villain in a sci-fi series such as this one In war, all bad is bad Both sides have their darkness... it is about being anti all things bad as opposed to choosing a side Every bad bitch needs to watch Star Wars

hell yeah, love to see a Star Wars post as someone who spends so much of my life thinking about it. Was literally just rewatching a bit of Andor this morning, I love that show and its theme of community vs crushing establishments

DS9 is easily my favorite Star Trek series. This quote/scene has been stuck in my mind for a while now. Commander Sisko: [increasingly agitated] You know what the trouble is? Major Kira: ...No. Commander Sisko: The trouble is Earth! Major Kira: Really. Commander Sisko: On Earth, there is no poverty, no crime, no war. You look out the window of Starfleet Headquarters and you see paradise. Well it's *easy* to be a saint in paradise, but the Maquis do not live in paradise! Out there, in the Demilitarized Zone, all the problems haven't been solved yet! Out there, there are no saints! Just people! Angry, scared, determined people, who are going to do whatever it takes to survive, whether it meets with Federation approval or not! --- Someone with all of their needs met and are living in safety and comfort can easily be a saint. But people living in dangerous conditions have to respond to those conditions in order to survive.

I love sci-fi, but I don’t watch a lot of movies because it’s always “man versus machine”. It’s always predictable how something will always go wrong, the tech will fail, etc. I know Interstellar has rave reviews, but I didn’t see it until today. Now I know why everyone loves it. It was never a question of “will the technology allow us to do things”, it was more about the human choices and sacrifices we have to make with the limitations of technology and who we’re making those sacrifices for.
Their music is decent but their story behind the music is so cool, but I'm a scifi nerd.

That’s what’s up: 1- going outside and admiring the vibrancy of nature post rain 2- making the craziest face possible in the mirror What’s up with that?: 1- if asked why ai is bad for the environment, could anyone (non science/cs background) explain in an accurate way without googling it in real time - and cite credible sources to this statement/what information even is real/do it matter even if the most brain rotted of all of us boycott using chatGPT if the overlords make you opt in automatically??? at what rate is this unethical form of consumption going to start being visualized? Do we even know this??? So many questions that unfortunately wont be answered by an infographic It is what it is: 1- Instagram stories of Israel committing a massacre and ending ceasefire immediately followed by “happy birthday Jessica🩷” as what we consume as the new normal

Honestly those big tubs of spinach are classically goated. Truly so versatile! I've been putting them in an omelette every morning, in smoothies, and then randomly throwing into my dinner dishes. Yesterday I stir fried onions, ground beef, spinach and threw a fried egg on top with rice. Whenever I buy spinach, I use it all up ... can't say the same about arugula or kale tbhzies.

Hands down the best full body massage in LA. Argue with the wall. I grew up going to the best $50 an hour full body massage parlors in Garden Grove. I also have had double scoliosis (my spine is the shape of an S in my back and in my neck lol thx genetics) since I was 12, so my shit’s all fucked up. My life is full of either excitement or anxiety and I naturally carry my stress and anticipation through my posture and it manifests in me feeling tense at all times, particularly in my left shoulder. I would say I have pretty strong credentials for knowing what a great and effective massage feels like. Massages are extremely important to my self-care routine and a necessary reoccurring monthly expense. I will quite literally be unwell without them and try to go at least twice a month. I’ve been to every hole in the wall massage spot in Northeast LA and nothing has beat Yolo Foot Spa. Yes, they do full body massages, not just foot massages. For $65, it is truly unbeatable. My stamp cards are filling up and I have 3 names pencilled in on them—Alex, Yoyo and the GOAT, Helen. Holy f*ck, I went to see Helen for a 60 min massage and had the most insane knot in my left shoulder and she did some crazy technique that literally rolled it away and it was gone within 10 minutes of the massage. I believe she’s studied the lymphatic system because her technique was very strategic in every part of the body, I could feel fluids moving, bones cracking, blood circulating…basically everything I could ever need in a massage. I’ve also been to $200 massages and to places that specialize in wood therapy and lymphatic drainage and have left them feeling unimpressed. Yolo Foot Spa is the real deal! I’m a Yolo head for life! Thank me later. Tip: bring cash because it costs more on card (a tip I literally never follow myself lol).
