This is a local spot across the river from new orleans that is a Vietnamese bakery/coffee shop/diner combined! their doughnuts are perfect & they started making King Cakes for the mardi gras season too!
I got a pork belly bahn mi and a donut with a black sesame iced coffee & it was So GOOD!!!
If youāre ever in PDX you need to try Pipās. Or, like, get someone to ship them to you. These bite sized treats are āmore like a cardamom and nutmeg spiced Belgium waffle than a regular doughnutā. Cooked hot to order with flavors of your choosing- today I went to catch some specialty flavors (pistachio cream, prickly pear & yuzu, pancakes) but usually they offer addictive classics like candied bacon, honey & sea salt, or nutella. Theyāve got a number of in-house chai and matcha mixes, and best of all, you get a free dozen on your birthday! Always worth the drive!
Thereās a Chiu Quon bakery up on Argyle and down on Wentworth! Both are very very good. Those are a little trek respectively on the red line. I also highly recommend Sweet Bean which is not too far from you. To the West a little is Pilsen and Iād check out Panaderia Nuevo Leon and any other place on 18th street.
