i've been feeling so creatively blocked lately and throughout my internship i was so tired. i hated anything that's got to do with design and i wanted to quit so bad. turns out i just need a break.
is what our executive creative director said in a meeting but as a jaded designer suffering from creative burnout, i avoid hobbies that might require any design program. have i ever considered switching careers? yeah, everyday.... it's kind of painful to see myself actually be this way when i used to make time for passion projects outside of work. i did journal for a bit but now i find joy in sports/being active and spending more time with friends & family.
having a creative job is so fun. I feel really lucky that I get to do what I enjoy as a livelihood. it just sucks when it's time to clock out and I don't feel satisfied creatively bc I was making art for a company ( I <3 capitalism!!!!) instead of for myself, but I feel too burnt out to do anything creative after.
so sad.
i have a kind of corporate graphic design job and i havenโt really done a project 4 myself since i graduated so i decided to have a little creativity session w one of my best friends (who is also a graphic designer) and we built a concept for a project we are really excited about ๐ safe to say sometimes weโve gotta sacrifice our free time of doing nothing to start chasing the things we want out in the world.
