wanting to create more, but feeling burnt out.

having a creative job is so fun. I feel really lucky that I get to do what I enjoy as a livelihood. it just sucks when it's time to clock out and I don't feel satisfied creatively bc I was making art for a company ( I <3 capitalism!!!!) instead of for myself, but I feel too burnt out to do anything creative after. so sad.

As someone who works for a large corporation doing fulfilling yet tiring work, I too struggle to fit in time to create. One thing that I have found that helps is making 1 new artistic connection/project and working solely on that project til completion. Once done I find myself able to create a lot faster and freely again. I describe this as giving your mind a hard reset.

"find a creative outlet outside of work"

is what our executive creative director said in a meeting but as a jaded designer suffering from creative burnout, i avoid hobbies that might require any design program. have i ever considered switching careers? yeah, everyday.... it's kind of painful to see myself actually be this way when i used to make time for passion projects outside of work. i did journal for a bit but now i find joy in sports/being active and spending more time with friends & family.

i actually have so many creative endeavors which is a blessing and a curse because i can never give one my 100% but also look touch designer is soo cool but also grind fl studio aarghhh the pains of trying to be a fulfilled creative
does anyone know how to like stop doing this

Finally designed something I like

i've been feeling so creatively blocked lately and throughout my internship i was so tired. i hated anything that's got to do with design and i wanted to quit so bad.
turns out i just need a break.
