Tidal's services cost less, audio quality is superior, pays artists better; has an algorithm that does not filter people to the top grossing artists in their listening genre and is all around excellent, the app is trimmed down, it provides a weekly analysis of your listening (so a more frequent and representative breakdown). Fuck spotify, and if you're not ready to move to a bandcamp only purchase/download + MP3 situations then Tidal is your one. I'm sure this is not a new take, but I will say I am over the moon about the switch so far.

That’s actually so funny Tidal was initially more expensive and has been eclipsed

I’m gonna level with you. If you’re on pi dot fyi at this time, you’re gonna wanna get off Spotify. Head over to tidal. Audio quality is better than Spotify, they recently reduced their pricing, and if you think “how can I share music with friends” then you can use the new feature that is platform non-specific. Would you like to live deliciously

I found out about the app Tidal in my class and it's a really cool music app owned by Jay-z I think? The audio quality is way better and around the same price as Spotify. I only pay $5 a month since I'm a student and Spotify is supposed to get more expensive. I don't know if I'm just the last person to hear about this since suddenly I've seen people using it in public but yeah

I switched to Qobuz after seeing that it had high resolution audio and oh my god Spotify has been feeding our ears with the equivalent of junk food!! The difference in sound quality is palpable and the student plan is only $4.99/month so I think it’s fair for the quality of the music!!

The crunch of snow below my feet and the wonder of tiny tracks dotting the surface? Magical. I do not love the cold but getting to the top of a mountain in winter makes enduring the temperature so worth it.

Echoing the value of rest💗 consider the 7 types of rest and see what areas might feel nice for you to incorporate into your day/week rn. There are some great tools out there (esp. if therapy or doctors visits are inaccessible or just not the right path for you) to support mental health or creative practices. Some free/web available resources I trust are The Artists Way by Julia Cameron (caveat that this has some chat about spirituality, and for some folks that may not be a great fit, but super useful otherwise), Thinking Traps Tutorial by Dr. Raquel Martin or any of her free resources really, and symptom journaling generally. Would be glad to share both wider or more specific reccs if desired. And just know it takes time but it's not forever that you'll feel dispassionate. Sending lots of gentleness and warmth to you.

Love this app, it's wonderful, thanks for your work! Some color themes make it difficult to see whether you've liked/starred something or not (like the star looks yellow before you've clicked it and when you do, it's tough to know if it's been properly selected). It would be awesome to tweak the color pallette of the pre-like/star state on those themes.
