Starring Billy Crystal and Danny DeVito. The scene that hit me was when Danny‘s character asked Crystal’s character if he wanted to check out his coin collection. Crystal said hell naw because he didn’t really like DeVito anyway so he didn’t care. But eventually he came around and DeVito one-by-one laid out a quarter, a quarter, a nickel, a dime, another dime. Crystal’s character said something along the lines of coin collections are supposed to be worth something. DeVito said “OH they are! This quarter? I got change when I went to the cinema with my dad to see…“ etc etc. I can’t remember exact lines from the movie. But I loved his character confidently placing worth in something that people would normally only look at for its monetary worth. It challenged my initial capitalistic-brained reaction.

It’s a revelation. Simply masterful. Probably only hits in context, (so watch Columbus)!

I know I’m supposed to put some Criterion pick here, or some sort of tour de force film, but have you seen Charles Grodin in Clifford?! Holy hell, few things cheer me up like Martin Short, pretending to “look at you like a normal person.” It’s a dumb movie that is better the more you watch it.

Not even that crazy of a movie but I’m gonna contradict that by saying it may have changed my life. I truly don’t know why but i left this movie a different person. don’t really give a shit about Ben stillers character and I don’t think the movie really does either. maybe it’s when Winona gets in the fight and says “play a show a night, play 3 shows a night” idk. I wasn’t there for the 90s but this feels like a time capsule like Troy is the years 1991-1997 in human form. It’s been 24 hours since I saw this but it feels like it has clicked something in my brain. maybe it’s when Winona says “i was really gonna be something by the age of 23” and then my theater laughed. one of those movies I want to live in (Houston in 1994). Had to get this off my chest this movie despite having a standard enough plot has been rattling through my brain, truly a character movie wish they spent more time with zahn and garofolo’s characters but idgaf

I loooove running out of something at my service industry job. I love looking at someone square in the eyes and telling them it’s out of my hands. Cannot fulfill your needs. Not sorry.
