Groundhogs day loot drop. The waist tag says “Grenadier” and I can’t find anything about that brand other than like a couple pieces of clothing on Poshmark. Anyways for 10 Canuck Bucks I’m v happy with them.

I wasn’t one of those people that reverted to sweats and loungewear in the early days of quarantine, but I’ve come to appreciate the joy of “soft” clothing when indoors. Before I moved from NY to LA, I dug out an old pair of sateen Army fatigues that have a beautiful softness and peached finish that lies between pajama pants, sweatpants and the sort of cotton canvas work pants painters might wear. The design is louche and utilitarian enough that any relation to it’s military origin is not immediately obvious, and the olive green is quite faded and muted and would be at home in a garden or any natural setting. I love repurposed and recontextualized objects in general, but these pants have become increasingly dear to me as I’ve come to appreciate the beauty in their simplicity and practicality.

I'll confirm the Bronson (for milsurp styles) and J. Crew Giant Fit chinos/cords (more generic casual) recommendations are both good. Uniqlo, Buck Mason, and Gramici (hiking vibes) should also have good options. If you're going vintage, PRL Andrew or Hammond pants are great in linen or cord or chino. Both straight leg, Andrew is a double forward pleat, Hammond is a double reverse. My linen Andrews bounce and flow in ways that make me happy. Dickie's makes some good pants for cheap, the main downside being the polyester in their blends. But they look cool. Workwear-styled. (For the confused, workwear doesn't mean "clothes you wear to work," it means "clothes construction workers might wear to work.") Evan Kinori, Studio Nicholson, and Scott Fraser Collection are doing cool things if you wanna spend money. Or you could always go bespoke with a brand like Rota. Aaaannd as one more twist... I've gotten good Gucci pants for a very good price on eBay, there's more out there if you want to look into that. Especially worthwhile if you want to find a flared leg.

Chillin in bed get on my level. Reading books and shit all comfy with my Nike tech on under the duvet. I am unbothered. I am in my court atop my throne, the cozy-pilled sovereign of a full-sized mattress.

I read a lot for school. To ease the pain that causes, I’ve decided to read even more. But stuff I choose. For the love of god I just need to lessen the percent of my time occupied by utter academic gibberish. Here’s what I purchased on Saturday. I‘m reading Dubliners first and saving Dostoyevsky for when the weather‘s less depressing. I’ve read the Wittgenstein book and Waiting for Godot but just need to own my own copies at this point.
